The Satellite Safety Alliance commends the nomination of Alan Davidson as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Communications and Information, leading the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA). As the manager of our airwaves — used for essential communications — it’s a national imperative our federal airwaves have an experienced manager who understands the public interest. As a former Obama Administration official and Mozilla executive, Alan Davidson brings deep experience in the public and private sector to the critical role. We look forward to working with him on maintaining NTIA’s decade-long opposition to Ligado Networks’ plans to harmfully interfere with satellite communications and GPS.
