About industries involved in the Satellite Safety Alliance

Satellite companies and the GPS industry, and users of those services generate billions of dollars for the U.S. economy. This includes billions of investment to replace multi-billion legacy satellites; substantial investment by aviation and maritime industries in services dependent on that connectivity; and $11 billion in NOAA GOES satellites and a weather/environmental data community that has invested substantially in new applications and services using the data from these satellites. GPS contributes at least $65 billion directly to the U.S. economy. These investments cannot be stranded at the request of one company. Ligado Networks has a dangerous plan for America's critical communications that 14 federal agencies and hundreds of crucial private companies and interests oppose.
